Every great story has a beginning — and mine started long before my solo trip Bali.

I was born in East Africa, and came to the United States with my mother at a young age. She carried so much — a new country, a new language, a new life — and she made it look like love. As the oldest of three siblings, I watched her closely. I learned from her what it means to show up, to sacrifice, and to build something from nothing.

That foundation never left me. And in 2018, it followed me all the way to Bali.

Like so many women before me, I found myself drawn to that island of light, color, and self-discovery. Walking through the markets, watching artisans shape metal and stone with their hands, something stirred in me. Art had always been a language I understood, but jewelry — jewelry was the dialect I had been searching for.

It didn't happen overnight. It took time, reflection, and a lot of quiet moments before I could see clearly what I was meant to create. But when it clicked, it clicked completely.

YEMAR is more than a jewelry brand. It is a tribute — first and foremost to my mother, the woman who carried us across the world and shaped me into the woman I am today. Every piece I create carries a piece of her spirit.

That's why I name my collections after women who inspire me most. Because inspiration doesn't live in one person — it lives in all of us. In the friend who shows up. In the stranger who speaks her truth. In the mother, the sister, the daughter who keeps going.

We are all sisters! And this brand is for each and every one of us.
